🎉 Fall Fest is Coming 🎉 Featuring Knucklebones!

This week, Fall Fest takes the top spot in our newsletter — and for good reason.

We’re excited to announce that Knucklebones will be joining us with their Community Playspace: a hands-on experience packed with creative, outside-the-box games and equipment.

It’s open to all ages and designed for everyone to play, explore, and enjoy at their own pace.

To make our Williams Fall Fest a success we need YOUR help!! Whether you can volunteer for an hour shift or donate food and other items, or BOTH, we need your involvment to make this event a success.

Dad's Night Out - This Thursday

Calling all Williams dads! Join us for a fun Dads’ Night Out at Ward 4 this Thursday evening. Come connect, unwind, and enjoy a relaxed night with great company. No agenda—just good conversation and community. Hope to see you there!

PTO Volunteers Needed

Thank you to everyone who has signed up as a PTO Volunteer. We are still missing some key roles listed below:

Williams Wear Coordinator - we are in the process of rolling out some new logos and need help with promoting Williams Wear and assisting in sales.
METCO Liaison
SEPAC Liaison

Safe Routes Liaison
Fall Fest Planning Committee - FallFest is Oct 25th and we need help planning! This event is one of the largest undertakings of the year so please consider volunteering!
NewtonSERVES Coordinator/s - Work with the City of Newton to organize NewtonSERVES Day at Williams. This includes mulching, clean-up, planting and painting. Come up with ways to beautify the school!
Parent/Guardian Social Events Coordinator/s - Organize fun events for Williams parents an guardians (Parent Nights Out, Trivia Nights, Golf Outings, use your imagination to find ways for the adults to connect!)

Remember, there is no PTO without our parent volunteers. The more volunteers the more successful the year will be!

Annual Dues

Every year the Williams PTO spends approximately $250 per student on the various programs the PTO sponsors in and out of school. In order to achieve all our goals for our school and our children we must raise upwards of $40,000 each year.

While every Williams parent/guardian is automatically a member of the Williams PTO, we ask that each Williams family pay annual dues in order to keep these programs alive and raise the bar in our community and social gatherings. Our goal this year is 100% family participation. While our suggested payment is $250 per child, please contribute what you can.

The PTO will use dues to fund many of our core activities throughout the year! For example:

Creative Arts & Sciences Educational Enrichment Program
Staff Instructional Mini-Grants
Technology & Equipment
Multicultural Night
Staff Appreciation Week
School Grounds Beautification
Community Outreach

Halloween Window Painting - October 25th

Registration is now open for the 26th Annual Halloween Window Painting event in Newton! On Saturday, October 25 (rain date Sunday, October 26), students in grades 3–8 are invited to create festive Halloween artwork on store windows across seven Newton villages.

It’s a fun way to show your creativity and help bring spooky spirit to our community!

📚 Book Fair Magic Is Coming - November 7

Mark your calendars! The Scholastic Spring Book Fair is coming to the Williams Library on Friday, November 7th from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM.

It’s a great opportunity for students to discover new reads, build their home libraries, and support our school—all while getting excited about books.

🏅 New Sports Clinics Starting Soon - November 18th

Get ready—Be Ahead of the Game is bringing exciting evening sports clinics to the Williams Elementary Gym starting this November!

Kids in grades K–5 can join in on the fun with options like indoor soccer, basketball, futsal, and multi-sports. Sessions are split by grade and held on Tuesday or Thursday evenings—perfect for burning energy and building skills after school.

It’s active, it’s fun, and it supports our school. Win-win!
