We hope everyone is enjoying the snow! With a cold week ahead, it’s a great time to check out what’s happening at Williams School—both this week and in the weeks to come. Stay warm and don’t miss what’s ahead!

Be Ahead of the Game is Back!

Session Two of Be Ahead of the Game kicks off in February—don’t miss your chance to join! This popular program fills quickly, so be sure to sign up soon. Dates and registration link are below.

Cost:

$220 for the first child
$190 for each additional sibling

Tuesdays - 2/3, 2/10, 2/24, 3/3, 3/10, 3/17 (6 classes total; no class - 2/17)

6-7 PM - Grades K-2 - Indoor Soccer

7-8 PM - Grades 3-5 - Indoor Soccer

Thursdays - 2/5, 2/12, 2/26, 3/5, 3/12, 3/19 (6 classes total; no class - 2/19)

6-7 PM - Grades K-2 - Basketball

Every year the Williams PTO spends approximately $250 per student on the various programs the PTO sponsors in and out of school. In order to achieve all our goals for our school and our children we must raise upwards of $40,000 each year.

While every Williams parent/guardian is automatically a member of the Williams PTO, we ask that each Williams family pay annual dues in order to keep these programs alive and raise the bar in our community and social gatherings. Our goal this year is 100% family participation. While our suggested payment is $250 per child, please contribute what you can.

The PTO will use dues to fund many of our core activities throughout the year! For example:

Technology & Equipment
Multicultural Night
Staff Appreciation Week

ACL LEGO Club – Drop-In This Wednesday!

The ACL Drop-In LEGO Club is happening this Wednesday at the Auburndale Community Library from 2:30–3:30 PM.

This month’s themes are Spaceship and By the Pool—just bring your imagination and get building!

No registration required.

Food Rescue at Williams: Reducing Waste, Helping Neighbors

Williams is participating in a districtwide food rescue effort aimed at reducing food waste while getting nutritious food into the hands of those in need in our community. During lunch, students may place any unopened, uneaten, nonperishable items from their school-provided lunch (items from home lunches are not eligible) into a designated collection area in the cafeteria.

Each week, these items are picked up by a student leader at Newton South High School, who packages and distributes them across the district.

The Williams Green Team is currently seeking a parent/caregiver volunteer to help with weekly pickup and delivery. The role involves collecting the donated items from Williams Elementary School—ideally on Wednesdays before 3:00 p.m.—and delivering them to Newton South (approximately a 10-minute drive).
